American Public University System (System) now includes American Public University, American Military University, Rasmussen University, and Hondros College of Nursing. The System is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Public Education, Inc. (APEI). AMU online certificate programs are ideal if you seek a short program focused on career development or knowledge of a specific discipline. You must have your high school diploma or its equivalent before starting an undergraduate certificate program at AMU, or your bachelor's degree for a graduate-level certificate program. Certificates range from 18-27 semester hours (about 6-9 courses), and some credits earned from an online certificate program may be applied to an associate, bachelor’s, or master's degree.
