On [DATE], American Public University System combined with Rasmussen University and Hondros College of Nursing to form a single higher education institution. American Public University System (System) now includes American Public University, American Military University, Rasmussen University, and Hondros College of Nursing. The System is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Public Education, Inc. (APEI). We are continuing to update our website to reflect our new structure.

Appeals Process

Student Conduct Appeals

Following the receipt of an adverse action or sanction, the student has seven (7) days to appeal the decision. The appeal is reviewed by the Board or appropriate academic leadership; individuals who review the appeal shall not have participated in the initial review of student misconduct.

If new factual evidence arises, the Board may consider a second review. The maximum appeal timeline is 12 months from the date of the decision; however, the university reserves the right to adjust the timeline based on the circumstances of the case.
